The IKS Education in Classroom Practice is a specialised professional programme designed for educators who wish to meaningfully integrate Indian Knowledge Systems (IKS) into contemporary teaching and learning. Rooted in India's rich educational traditions and aligned with the vision of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, the programme equips teachers with practical approaches to create holistic, value-based, and learner-centric classrooms.
The programme introduces participants to the philosophical foundations of Indian Knowledge Systems, Indic pedagogy, Indian psychology, storytelling traditions, value education, and subject-specific classroom applications. Rather than treating IKS as an additional subject, the programme demonstrates how Indian knowledge traditions can naturally enrich existing teaching practices across disciplines.
Emphasis is placed on practical classroom implementation through lesson planning, reflective practice, activity design, and teaching demonstrations, enabling participants to confidently incorporate IKS into everyday educational settings
The programme combines conceptual understanding with hands-on classroom application. Participants engage in lectures, interactive discussions, workshops, reflective activities, lesson planning, and supervised teaching demonstrations to develop practical competence in IKS-based education.
Saturday: 2:30 PM to 5:30 PM
Sunday 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM
Participants of this programme will be equipped to integrate Indian Knowledge Systems into everyday classroom teaching through learner-centred, experiential, and value-based educational practices. The programme also serves as an excellent foundation for educators aspiring to lead NEP 2020 implementation initiatives, teacher training programmes, curriculum innovation, and further academic pursuits in Indian Knowledge Systems.
